Stuff You Heard on the Show
The Male Factor
HERE is the link on Amazon to Shaunti Feldhaun's book "The Male Factor."  Fascinating book helping women understand the dynamics of men and women in the workplace.. We chatted with Shaunti this morning about a few of the topics she discusses in the book: The Visual Trap, Men's perceptions of women's emotions, and why you should present your conclusion to men first.  Fascinating stuff!

Men have it easy. Their workplace attire has barely changed in the last 50 years. Navy, Black or Kakhi slacks, brown or black shoes, ****on-up shirt and tie (tie styles have changed over time, but that is about it). Maybe a polo on Fridays. Women on the other hand have to deal with constantly changing styles, different shoes are in style each year, different lengths of skirts and dresses are in style from year to year, different cut of blouses and slacks are stylish - or not - depending on the season and year.

I believe that SOME women know exactly what they are doing when they wear revealing clothing, but I think a large majority are just trying to keep up with the style and because it can be difficult to navigate all the new trends. I truly believe that often women do not realize that what they are wearing is too revealing. I have been shopping for new professional clothing at some stores where there is very little I can buy because everything that's in style is either too tight, too low cut, or too short (skirts) for me to feel appropriate wearing it. It's really frustrating because I end up with clothes that either do not fit correctly or are not stylish and therefor not as clean-cut and professional looking as I would like. There is a lot of pressure to wear clothing that is revealing either because it is the current style or because of other social factors in the work place.

your show this morning was a clear snapshot of why 80% of all christian churches in america are either plateauing or declining... you can not even take a moral stand on a silly football question and teach your "followers" a moral lesson. instead you stay luke warm and appease the middle ground. this was an easy moral question. go to the rule book, what does it say a fair catch is. but by you watering this simple subject down your followers will do in excess what you do in moderation; when that teen takes it too far with their date, they are just sneeking one past the ref, afterall that's part of the game right. what about when bernie madoff pulled his scheme. well a year ago he was an investment guru, but once the "ref's " paid attention then his actions were to have consequences. revelations 3:16 is the exhortation that i have for you.

Good morning everyone, I would like to comment on the trap. I believe this is an integrity issue and will be totally based on an individual, and unless they know Jesus, and follow that morality the mojority will indanger thier integrity for the team. I think , but I have found that in my area alot more integrity growing , and a benifit from the station. Love ya guys/ gals. keep bringing.

what a mess! i COMPLETELY agree with nikki and would like to add some. 90% (or whatever the number was) of women are lying. i could be wrong, perhaps i have some insight bc most of my friends are guys, but i highly doubt more than 10% of women are clueless and innocent and i would assume their religion forbids those types of clothing anyway. ive known for most of my life what power the female figure has oven men, there were times when i abused it and i know that wasnt the best choice. but i know, even now, if i think i look nice (in a ****on up shirt, suit jacket and pants with a cute pair of pumps-totally 'plain and professional') at least one guy will think im crazy hot. cleavage or completely covered up in a pin tucked suit- guys think about girls all of the time. im not going to go out and start wearing mens clothes and sweat pants, i will keep wearing professional adult clothes but i will not be in denial and i will definitely not lie and say that i have no idea whats going on in a mans head...that is just plain silly. these women arent wearing sweats to the office, flips flops at construction sites and suits at the playground or to bed- how are they claiming to be completely unaware of the effects of our choice of clothing?

also, giving in to the pressures of whats in style is a choice not a burden all women must bear. wear what fits your body and beliefs not what fits the runway
